How to translate text and documents

Translate a supported document while keeping the original and result available for comparison.

Reviewed

Before you start

  • Sign in and open Text. Use text you may process; imports are up to 4 MB.
  • Supported document inputs are TXT, Markdown and DOCX. Use UTF-8 for text files.
  • Text uses the separate translation balance, not Studio video plan credits.

Translate in Text

  1. Paste text into Original or click Import for a supported document.
  2. Choose From and To. Use language detection if appropriate; select a source language before swapping.
  3. Review the preferences for tone, terminology and instructions.
  4. Click Translate and review the displayed quote or balance shortfall before accepting the paid operation.
  5. Wait for the result. Compare source and translation, inspect names and formatting, then use Copy or Download in the displayed format.

Expected result

The translated text or supported document download preserves the validated structure. DOCX text preview is not a guarantee of identical layout; inspect the downloaded document.

Example and review

Try a permitted short product description with a few approved glossary terms. Check every term and number in the result rather than treating a successful request as proof of semantic accuracy.

Troubleshooting

  • Unsupported format: convert to a supported document; PDF, spreadsheets and legacy DOC are not accepted by Text.
  • Source or preferences changed: translate again before downloading a stale result.
  • Expired quote: use Translate to refresh the price. Verify a pending payment in the account before purchasing again.

Questions and answers

Can I edit the preview of an imported DOCX source?

Import a new document copy to edit its source. The app's DOCX source preview is read-only.
